Techno-economic assessment and optimization of a solar-assisted industrial post-combustion CO2 capture and utilization plant

This paper studies the techno-economic feasibility of solar-assisted regeneration process largest industrial CO2 removal monoethanolamine-based plant in Iran. The incorporating parabolic troughs is modelled using System Advisor Model software and weather data are derived from European Commission’s Photovoltaic Geographical Information System. Sensitivity analyses realized to evaluate effect important parameters, i.e., solar multiple hours storage, reveal optimum case. studied impacts linked overall net energy generation levelized cost heat (LCOH). case found have a 3.1 18-hours resulting share 0.7 LCOH 3.85 (¢/kWh). When compared base (solar 2 6 h storage), solution results similar but it achieves an additional 16,112 MWhth annually. thermal supplied by system leads annual reduction natural gas consumption approximately 3.8 million m3 that emission 7.1 kton.
